New York, February 5. - Robert B. Todd, formerly Justice of the Supreme Court of Louisiana, died last night at the home of his daughter, Mrs. S. B. Daniels, in Brooklyn. Associate Justice Todd was for many years a resident, with his family, of this city, leaving here only a few weeks ago to visit his daughter at New York, accompanied by his wife and daughter, Miss Sarah, in hopes that the change of climate would improve his health. Justice Todd was a native of Missouri, being born in that State on January 17th, 1826. He moved to North Louisiana early in life and after having finished his education studied law and was admitted to practice in Monroe in 1845. He was a veteran of two wars, having served as a Captain in the attack on Mexico and as a Colonel in the Confederate war. He was appointed by Governor Wiltz in 1880 to the State Supreme bench, where he served for eight years. Judge Todd leaves a widow and two daughters in New York, and three sons Mr. David Todd of the Iberia bar; Mr. R. B. Todd, Jr., a prominent lawyer and proprietor and editor of the Morehouse Clarion; and Mr. W. H. Todd, a lawyer, recently located in Jefferson's parish.
