DIED: At his residence at New Iberia, on Sunday, October 8th, 1905, at 2:30 
o'clock a. m., Philip Slaughter Towles, aged 73 years, a native of St. Mary 
Parish. The funeral took place from the Episcopal Church on Monday, afternoon, 
largerly attended by the friends and acquaintances of the family. Mr. Towles 
had been a sufferer with heart trouble for a long time, culminating in his 
sudden and unexpected death.
