The funeral services of this widely known citizen were conducted at the family home last Sunday morning, the interment being in the Protestant Cemetery. Isham Vest died in Preston, Cuba, on the 18th of September his death resulting from pleurisy which followed a minor operation. At the time of his sickness he had secured his passeport (sic) and was ready to sail for home to spend a few weeks' vacation before the sugar making season re-opened in Cuba, where he was employed as engineer in a large refinery. He was the son of Mr. George Vest and Mrs. Harriet Reynolds Vest, and was thrity-seven years of age when untimely death removed him from a large circle of friends and relatives.
