Grim Reaper claimed all that was mortal of the venerable Mr. Alphonse Viator at his home at Petite Anse on Monday, October 14th at 11:30 o'clock A. M. Mr. Viator was born in this Parish, on March 31st, 1840, which was then a part of St. Martin parish. Nearly all of his life he followed the occupation of agriculturist and later in his declining years his health became so impaired he could do nothing. He leaves to mourn his death one daughter, Mrs. A. Lasserre and three sons, Messrs. Severin, Stephens and C. Viator. The funeral was conducted by Rev. Langlois at St. Peter's Catholich (sic) church in this City on Tuesday afternoon at four o'clock. 2nd. Obituary: source: The Weekly Iberian. (New Iberia, La.) 1894-1946, October 19, 1918, Image 2 Mr. Alph. Viator, of this parish, died on last Tuesday in the 79th year of his age. He was the father of Mr. Severin Viator, a former Deputy Sheriff of this parish. His funeral took place from St. Peters Catholic Church, in this city.
