Necrological.

Voorhies: At Elpaso, Texas. on Thursday, March 15, Dr. Albt. P. Voorhies died.
The remains arrived here on last Sunday afternoon. The funeral services were
conducted in St. Peters Catholic church, after which, the body was taken to 
St. Martinsville for interment in the family plot of the Catholic cemetery.

Dr. Voorhies was a son of Judge Voorhies of this city. After graduating in
dentistry a few years ago, he located in this city and was rapidly building
up an enviable practice, based upon his skill in the exercise of his profession,
when his health broke down. He closed his office, sold out his home property
and went out west in the hope of regaining his health. He was but 34 years of
age at the time of his health. The sterling qualities of his manhood won for
him admiration and enduring friendships wherever he became acquainted.

Dr. Albert P. Voorhies, a native of St. Martinville, died in El Paso, Texas, 
Thursday March 15th at the age of 34 years. His remains were brought to New 
Iberia were the funeral service were held at the Catholic Church, and then 
to St. Martinville for interment in the family tomb.

Dr. Voorhies was a son of Judge Felix Voorhies and a brother to Mr. Dan. W. 
Voorhies of this town. He was married to Miss Inez Broussard, a daughter of 
the late T. L. Broussard, who survive him.

The funeral, notwithstanding the bad weather, was largely attended.
