Widney, 83, were held yesterday morning at Trinity Episcopal Church with the Rev. Warrin Fry officiating. Burial was in Grove Hill Cemetery, Dallas. Mr. Widney, a veteran of the Spanish-American war, was a member of the first volunteers from Louisiana. He was a 32nd degree Mason, with membership in the lodge at Stamford, Tex. He held a life membership in the Knights of Pythias lodge, and was a lifelong member of the Episcopal Church. Mr. Widney died Wednesday in a hospital in Shreveport. He is survived by a daughter, Miss Celese Widney, Longview; a son, the Rev. Charles L. Widney, Columbus, Ga., and a sister, Miss Ida E. Widney, Oakdale, La.
