Widney, 83, who died at a local hospital, Sunday at 3 a. m. Interment was to be in Rosehill Cemetery. She was a retired school teacher and was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Widney. She was a member of the Retired School Teachers Association and of the Eastern Star. A native of Oakdale, she was a resident of New Iberia for six years, living the last five years in the Nuckal Nursing Home. Survivors include one nephew and one niece. A graduate of New Iberia High School, Mrs. Widney taught public school in Oakdale for 13 years, and in Segura, Coteau, and Steckler. She was a graduate of Northeast State College in Natchitoches and also graduated from the Moody Bible Institute. The Jacquemoud Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
