(New Iberia, La.) 1894-1946, September 28, 1901, Image 2 LAPERUSE - BERARD On Wednesday evening, between the hour of five and six, as the mellow evening shadows lengthened and joined with those of night, there was solumnized at the Catholc Church, the wedding of Mr. Walter Laperouse to Miss Laura Berard, The ceremony was performed by Rev. Father G. Frohn, whose admonitions and fatherly advice to the young couple at the end of the service, was as his utterences alway sare frought with love, and tenderness. Standing before the alter pledging their eternal love the rays of the evening sun streaming, through the stained glass windows full upon them, they presented a pretty picture. The bride a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Odillon Berard was costumed in a beautiful dress of organdie trimmed with silk embraidered gauze, and satin ribbon, with the customery bridal veil of Tulle, fastened in her dark hair and falling in shimmering folds to her feet. The bride was attended by Miss Clara Berard maid of honor, and little Miss May Breaux, as flower girl. The groom, one of the City's most respected young me was attended at the alter by Mr. Maurice Bergerie. A reception was held at the home Mr. and Mrs J. E. Hitter, later in evening where joy and mirth abounded, and many a toast drank to the health wealth and happiness of the young coupple. Among the speakers were Rev. Frohn Willis Laperuse Capt. A. N. Muller Albert DeBlanc and H. L. Smith. Mr. and Mrs. Laperuse, will make their home with Mrs. J. E. Hitter of East St. Peter street. The Iberian extends to Mr. and Mrs. Laperouse, its heartiest congratulations and hopes that as is the present so may their future be, all love, and happiness.
