Creamer marykcreamer@yahoo.com September 8, 2016, 2:05 pm The Weekly Iberian. (New Iberia, La.) 1894-1946, November 22, 1902, Image 3 Conrad - Laperouse Mr. John M. Conrad and Miss Corinne Laperouse were united in the holy bonds of matimory (sic), at the residence of the bride's mother, Wednesday evening, at 7 o'clock, Rev. Father Frohn officiating. Miss Leonise, sister of the bride was bridesmaid, while Mr. Albert Camille, of Jeanerette, was best man. The bride wore a beautiful gray silk dress trimmed with medalion applique, and held in her hand a beautiful boquet (sic) of camilias (sic) and ferns; she presented a picture that was lovely to behold. The groom is a successful rice planter, son of A. Conrad. The house was tastily trimmed with white morning glories and ferns. The yard was illuminated with Chinese lanterns and tended to recall memories of Fairyland. The bride is the lovely daughter of Widow Edmond Laperuse (sic), and is a sweet charming girl, endowed with all the noble traits of mind and heart that tend to make women great and lovable. The happy couple left Wednesday night for the home of the groom at Adeline, where they will reside in future. We in common with a legion of friends, and wish them a long life of unnalloyed (sic) happiness. The Iberian returns thanks for kind rememberance (sic) in the shape of a liberal supply of delicious cake.
