All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Crystal Devillier oneonone@cox.net December 16, 2006, 9:33 pm Source: Transcribed Court Document Written: August 29, 1793 Date: August 29, 1793 Partition - Pierre Isidor Blanchard and Hypolite Landry, the latter minor and authorized by Paul Mary Landry, his tutor By date of this day, they purchased: A plantation situated in this District on the left bank of the Mississippi river, adjacent above to the lands of Victor Blanchard and below to that of Paul Babin, containing eight arpents, five toises of front on the ordinary depth of forty arpents, the buildings, enclosures which might be thereon, also an arpent of cypress grove, that is to say, the cypresses and the oaks taking from a land belonging to Joseph Leblanc called Adoux taking between that of Theodor Duga and that of Mr. Joseph Barquer Vahamonde as it is said at greater length in the said act. There will be a partition: Pierre Isidor Blanchard will have the upper part, and Hypolite Landry will possess that below; besides, the half of this latter, will take from that of Isidor Blanchard 18 feet adjacent to his portion on the ordinary depth of forty arpents, the whole according to that which will be confirmed by the survey which will have to be made, at the time that one or the other will require it. For indemnity, Pierre Isidor Blanchard acknowledge himself debtor of Hypolite Landry and obligates himself to pay him $40.
