On oath of Mrs. Elizabeth Richard, widow of Pierre Brasseux; of Olivier Brasseux; of Marie Rose Brasseux and of Marie Magdelaine Brasseux, minor children of the deceased; that they have not hidden any belongings of the decd; they decide that an inventory would be necessary. Date: November 29, 1794 Inventory - By virtue of act of November 27, 1794. A plantation on situated in the said place on the left bank of the Mississippi river, adjacent above to the lands of the said Mr. Jean Baptiste LeBlanc and below to those of Olivier Brasseux, containing about eight arpents of front on the ordinary depth which corresponds thereto, belonging to the succession for having been acquired by the deceased Pierre Brasseux by concession of the Governor General of this province on the date of the fifth of February 1775; the buildings, enclosures in a word, such as it comprises and contains at present. Another tract situated in this Post on the right bank of the Mississippi river and near Plaquemine adjacent above to the lands of ? and below to that of free negro, Paul, without any buildings or enclosures or cleared land, containing eight arpents of front on the ordinary depth which belongs also to the succession for having been conceded to the deceased Pierre Brasseux by the Governor General of this province. An arpent of cypress trees, that is to say, the cypress trees only and not the land situated betwee those of Joseph Dupuis and Simon Richard which belongs to the succession for having been acquired by the deceased from the vestry board of the Church of this Parish. At the adjudication by act passed and deposited in the archives of this Commandant. Date: January 2, 1795 Declaration by Widow Pierre Brasseux that she refuses the estimation, and that a family meeting is to take place to deliberate upon the measures to be taken to the best interest of the minors. Widow Brasseux appearing in her name and as mother and natural tutrix of Rose and Marie Magdelaine and Olivier Brasseux, minors. They decide that the property is to be sold at public auction. Joseph Brasseux is debtor to the sucn. for certain sum for settlement of all accounts with the Widow up to this day, part of which sum is money remaining owing on the amount of his plantation according to an act deposited in the archives of this Commandant. Paul Babin is debtor in favor of Sucn. for sum for settlement of all accounts with her up to this day.
