All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Crystal Devillier oneonone@cox.net February 3, 2007, 7:28 pm Source: Transcribed Court Document Written: February 25, 1806 Date: February 25, 1806 Acquittance - Jean Charles Ebert had received about one year ago of his decd. uncle, Maturin Landry, during his life, and by the lands of Gregoire Melanson, his brother-in-law (or step brother) certain sum of $53.6 1/2 which added to $15 for the late Francois Landry, wife of the declarer forms that of $68.6 1/2 which he had in his hands belonging to this latter, forming her inheritance which came from the succession left by Augustin Landry, her decd. step father, as and like it is confirmed by the act of obligation which the same Maturin Landry had consented to before Nicolas DeVerbois former Commandant of the District of Iberville the 20th day of the month July 1793, which is deposited in the archives of this County, for which sum the same Mr. Jean Charles Ebert gives a full acquittance to his said decd. uncle, Maturin Landry, as also to Gregoire Melanson, his brother-in-law (or step brother) who had been at the time charged with the said money.
