(probably Verdadero meaning right, right by lands of His Majesty, on the south by the Ca. Island and houses belonging to the King, and on the side (L. probably meaning Lado) the fountain distant fifty toises. Marias Hernandez New Orlean, January 7, 1799 The Surveyor of this Province will establish this claim on the land which he solicited of one arpent of land squared, in the place indicated in the foregoing brief, being vacant, and not occasioning any prejudices, which proceeding of survey will be remitted to me in order to provide the interested party with the corresponding title in form. Man 1 Gayoso de Lemos Reg. Juan de Mer y teran, Provisional Commandant of this Town of Galveztown. I cerity that this copy of the original which rests in the archives of this Post, ** to my delivery by the decease of the resident Commandant, and rests in my archives, in order to occasion the delivery of the original to Dona.
