Marias Hernandez asks His Majesty for certain land in Galveztown, being an 
arpent of land squared, belonging to His Majesty, (God be with him) bounded on 
the North by a cypress grove, ( V. (probably Verdadero meaning right, right by 
lands of His Majesty, on the south by the Ca. Island and houses belonging to 
the King, and on the side (L. probably meaning Lado) the fountain distant 
fifty toises.

New Orlean, January 7, 1799
The Surveyor of this Province will establish this claim on the land which he 
solicited of one arpent of land squared, in the place indicated in the 
foregoing brief, being vacant, and not occasioning any prejudices, which 
proceeding of survey will be remitted to me in order to provide the interested 
party with the corresponding title in form.

I cerity that this copy of the original which rests in the archives of this 
Post, ** to my delivery by the decease of the resident Commandant, and rests 
in my archives, in order to occasion the delivery of the original to Dona. 
Antonia Lafon, his wife; and by this * it is signed.

Galveztown the 20th of February of 1799
