Jean Baptiste Olivier Landry TO Joseph Brasseux (I think that the word feu meaning decd. is an error in the writing) For debt of money, they mortgage: their plantation situated in this District, on the left bank of the Mississippi river, between the lands of Mr. Simon Foret and that of this parish, containing eight arpents of front, the buildings, enclosures, which belong to them for having been purchased same in two different portions, one at the auction which was made of the property of Mr. Rufin Gray of five arpents of front; the other of three arpents of front coming from a judicial sale of land of the parish. Date: June 29, 1791 Same as above with the correction: Widow Marie Marth Blanchard, wife of Mr. Jean Bte Olivier Landry - same description Commandant Nicolas DeVerbois certifies that the present copy is in conformity with the origianl in his office. Date: August 6, 1791 The recorder, Pedro Pedesclaux certifies that the mortgage is recorded in his office, at New Orleans.
