Marie Joseph Landry, widow of Joseph Braud, assisted by Charles Braud, her 
son, of age of majority, and of Pierre Joseph Landry, her son-in-law, having 
married Scholastique Braud, who declare that the Widow Joseph Braud, received 
of Marie Eleine Amelton, Widow of Joseph Marie Braud, her son, certain sum for 
the non use of the five arpents of land, squared, which he had left her for 
her lifetime; which sum will take precedence over the best of the property and 
for the Surety of the said sum, the Widow presents Charles Braud, her son, as 
well as for another sum forming the two shares coming to Louis and Arsene 
Braud, her sons, for their share from the sucn. of the late Joseph Braud, 
their father.
And Charles Braud and Pierre Joseph Landry have each declared to have received 
of the said Marie Amelton, widow of Joseph Marie Braud, certain sum for their 
share of the succession of their father and father-in-law and which had been 
in the hands of Joseph Marie Braud as their tutor, for which they give 
acquittance. 
And Charles Braud declares that he renders himself Surety for the sum which 
Marie Joseph Landry, his mother has just received up to the payment of the 
shares which are to be paid to Louis and Arsene, his brothers, at their age of 
majority; and as for the sum which Marie Eleine Amelton, widow of Joseph Marie 
Braud, gave his mother, he remains Surety for the same until complete 
reimbursement.
