Belly Judge - stating that having been informed of the decease of Joseph Ygnace Landry, leaving 2 children named Manuel and Magdelaine, majors, issue of his 1st marriage with Scolastique Braud; and five minors issue of his 2nd marriage with Olive Elizabeth Braud, his decd. 2nd wife, minors named: Ely, Raphael, Narcise, Valere and Onesime. Ordering an inventory of his property and naming Honore Braud grand-father of the 5 minors, as their guardian. Notice to Maturin Landry, brother of the decd; Notice to Joseph Marie Landry, brother of the decd; Notice to Honore Braud, father-in-law of the decd; Notice to Joseph Braud, brother-in-law of the decd; Same date Acceptance of Honore Braud, as guardian of minors. Decree ordering appraisers to be named. Naming of appraisers dated Aug. 5, 1806. Decree ordering appraisers sworn. Acceptances of appraisers dated Aug. 6, 1806. Decree ordering inventory and notices of same issued. Notice to Maturain Landry, to Joseph Braud, to Manuel Landry, to Magdelaine Landry, to Honore Braud, to appraisers. Date: Aug. 21, 1806 Inventory The present plantation situated in this County of Iberville on the right bank of the Mississippi river, bounded above by the properties of Maturin Landry and below by those of Gregoire Melanson composed of five arpents twenty-two toises and two feet and a half, according to the titles of concession accorded to the decd. Augustin Landry, father of the decd. on date of the seventh of July, one thousand seven hundred seventy-four; and according to the survey of Ferdinand Victor Poitier of the twelfth of April one thousand eight hundred five, of five arpents twenty-five toises and one foot of land of front on the said river on forty of depth, the buildings, enclosures, which are thereon, in a word, such as it comprises and contains at present; with the claims of the second concession of the said plantation which the document of the 1st of August one thousand eight hundred two might give; with the exception of an arpent and a half of land of front which the widow Augustin Landry, mother of the decd. has the use on forty of depth, and this during her life time, as one sees by the paper which the said widow Augustin Landry comes to present; under this condition, the above-said plantation, (excepting the standing crop) has been estimated Aug. 23, 1806 Agreement - Appears Mrs. Marie Babin widow of Augustin Landry who declares that in consequence of arrangements with the heirs of her decd. son, Joseph Ygnace Landry, she abandons her use of an arpent and a half of land of front on forty of depth that she had on his plantation by virtue of the act of May 29, 1781 with the condition: 1. that the sucn delivers to her four superficial arpents on the front of this land and in the neighborhood where she resides, which she will use during her lifetime; and after her decease, to return to the person, purchaser and owner of the plantation of her decd. son 2. that she will have full liberty to take on the arpent and a half which she had used, all wood needed 3. that she will have liberty to remove on said one and a half arpent all fences on same and place them on the 4 superficial aprents. 4. that she will not have to maintain the public road, levee and road of the said 4 superficial aprents, which would remain in charge of owner of plantation. 5. that the sucn of her decd. son would pay to her indemnity for this abandonment of one and a half arpents. And the heirs promise to abide by agreement.
