Rennciation & Ratification 

Ester Leblanc, widow by first marriage of Theodor Rivet and by second marriage 
of Pedro Longuepe, who declared that by Public Sale dated Jan. 29, 1798 that 
her said decd. husband executed before the Provisional Commandant who is we 
understand, Dn. Pedro Sigur, in favor of Joseph Babin resident of the same, of 
a plantation belonging to us situated in the said District between the 
possessions of Dimes, or Santiago McCulloch above and below by those of 
Senador Babin, composed of four arpents and some toises of front with the 
ordinary depth of forty; in consequence, the widow declared that she renounces 
the laws in favor of the wife. 
(I notice that Public Sale is written in reference to a sale before a 
Commandant or one acting as present Notary Public and does not necessarily 
mean an auction sale in all cases.)
