All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Crystal Devillier oneonone@cox.net February 3, 2007, 7:16 pm Source: Transcribed Court Document Written: February 11, 1806 Date: February 11, 1806 Declaration - Timoleon LeSassier has taken oath before me, Judge Pierre Belly, after having asked LeSassier if he had knowledge of a sale which was made by the savages to Antoine Lanclos in 1802, on the 18th of June before Mr. Francois Rivas, who was then Commandant of the District of Iberville, he answered me (Judge) that by the voice of Francois Bertain, he had understood that the savages had remained in accord to sell their village situated on the second Bayou of Plaquemine to Mr. Antoine Lanclos for sum of $300 which was counted at the same time, and remaining of accord, the two contracting parties, that the line of the above said land would take from the above said Village on running in the depth, without touching, at the line of Mrs. Widow Jacques Chelatre; and knew of no other knowledge.
