Appeared: Amant Hebert who declared that Cecilla Dupuis, wife of Jayme McCulloch, died leaving four minors from her second marriage, named: Pedro Pablo, Ana Maria, Maria Rosa and Cicilla Clemencia Richard, children of the deceased Joseph Richard, and leaving two from her marriage with Jayme McCulloch, named Joseph and Alexandro McCulloch, and that is is necessary to have someone to take charge of the property belonging to the deceased and to proceed to the inventory and estimation of the said property, and by virtue of which, Pedro Hebert is named in charge of the property. Date: March 8, 1799 In order to proceed to the inventory, and for defense of the minors of the deceased, named Joseph and Alexandro McCulloch is named Donato Ebert. Date: March 9, 1799 Name appraiser for said property. Date: March 9, 1799 Name Donato Ebert as Guardian of Joseph and Alexandro McCulloch, children of Jayme McCulloch and Cicilla Dupuis. Date: March 11, 1799 Order by Franco Rivas, that he would proceed to the inventory, having received the acceptance of Jayme McCulloch, the oath of the appraisers and of Donato Ebert, Guardian of the minors. The Commandant having given notification, on the said date, to Jayme McCulloch, to Amant Hebert, Curator, to Donato Ebert, and to the appraisers, Juan Bautista Babin and Joseph Miguel Leblanc. Date: March 11, 1799 Inventory - in the presence of Jayme McCulloch, the widower, Amant Hebert, as curator to the minor children of the deceased Joseph Richard and the deceased Cicilla Dupuis, Donato Ebert, guardian of the minors of the deceased and of Jayme McCulloch; Juan Bautista Babin and Joseph Miguel Leblanc, appraisers. Movables. Negroes. A plantation situated in the mentioned District of Iberville on the left bank of the Mississippi river, composed of eight arpents of front with the ordinary depth of forty, bounded on the upper part by the lands of Isaac Leblanc and below by Joseph Babin, which belonged to the succession for having been purchased at the auction sale of the property of the deceased Joseph Richard with all its edifices, palisades and fences. A cypress grove situated in the District of Galvestown in the right bank of the Bayou Manchak at two leagues from the Mississippi river, bounded above and below by lands of the Dominion of His Majesty, composed of twenty-three arpents of front with the ordinary depth of forty, of which fifteen arpents of front belong to the succession for having been purchased at the auction sale of the property of the deceased, Joseph Richard, and the eight arpents of front remaining of the twenty-three, for having been conceded by the Governor General of this Province according to the titles of concession and figurative plan of the Commandant Surveyor Dn. Miguel Walsh. Movables. Date: March 2, 1799 Debts due the Succession. For an account of $32 which the Widower, Jayme McCulloch presents against the heirs of Simon Leblanc. The deceased Juan Harrison owes to the sucn. $4 etc. and debts against the Succession. The Succession owes to the curator, Amant Hebert, a sum of $750 for that coming to the minor children of the decd. Cicilla Dupuis and Joseph Richard, as appears by obligation of mortgage which is in archives of this District in favor of the said Curator. To Ana Dupuis $140 known to the Curator, Aman Hebert. Date: March 13, 1799 Family Meeting - Appeared Jayme McCulloch, widower of the deceased Cicilla Dupuis, who declared he desires a public sale of the property of the deceased just inventoried; and also present: Amant Hebert, as curator of Pedro Pablo, Ana Maria, Maria Rosa and Cicilla Clemencia Richard, minor children of the deceased Joseph Richard and of the deceased said lady; Joseph Landry, called Adu, their uncle by blood, Donato Ebert, guardian of Joseph and Alexandro McCulloch, children of the said Jayme McColloch and the deceased Cicilla Dupuis; and Fermin Dupuis, their uncle by blood, of the two minors, who deliberate on the most advantageous proceeding to the minors, and decide to proceed to the sale of the property inventoried. Date: May 26, 1800 Account rendered by Amant Hebert, Principal Tutor of the succession of Cecille Dupuis, wife of Jacques Mecolaw, To the said Jacques Mecolaw as well as to Simon Pierre Babin, Victor Blanchard, Ypolitte Landry, as representing Peirre Paul, Anne Marie, Marie Roze, and Cecile Dupuis, and to Firmin Dupuis, as under tutor of Joseph and Alexandre Mecolaw, minor children of the second marriage of the above said Cecile Dupuis and with Jacques Mecolaw. Mention is made of various sums owed to the succession, for the purchase of animals and movables. Account approved by interested parties, being an account of the assets. Follows an account of the expenses: Among small debts, paying to the heirs, the children of the second marriage of the deceased Joseph Richard, certain sum, and etc. Approved by the interested parties. Observation - Observing that there is due certain sum from the sale of articles to Jean Baptiste Macarthe. Observing also that they were not able to recover from the heirs of Simon Leblanc, $32 due to the sucn. as carried by inventory, the deceased Leblanc leaving but some claim on a tract which did not sell. Observations approved by interested parties. Date: May 27, 1800 At request of Jacques McCulloch, widower of Cicille Dupuis, in his name and in capacity of father and natural tutor of Joseph and Alexandre McCulloch, his minor children, issue of his marriage with the deceased; of Firmain Dupuis, maternal uncle and under-tutor of the minors; of Amant Hebert, uncle by marriage and tutor of Pierre Paul, Anne Marie, Marie Rose and Cicille Dupuis, all as heirs of the latter. Liquidation - Marriage contract between Jacques McCulloch and the deceased, passed August 7, 1794. Liquidation made November 23, 1796 of the Sucn. left by the late Joseph Richard, in which is confirmed that which was due Cicille Dupuis from said Sucn. Inventory and estimation made at the decease of Cicille Dupuis, March 11, 1799. Sale of property on April 1, 1800. Account rendered by Amant Hebert, accepted by the interested parties. Mention is herein made of ditribution of sums to the various heirs. Date: May 27, 1800 Appeares Santiago McCulloch who delcares that he had received of Amant Hebert certain sum coming from the inheritace which belongs to him from the property of the deceased Cicille Dupuis, his wife, as is shown by the liquidation which precedes, giving a receipt to Amant Hebert for the same. And also received a certain sum coming from his part of the inheritance which is due him from the property of his deceased father, Joseph Richard. Ypolite Landry obligating himself to pay said sum to the minor. Date: May 27, 1800 Appeared Simon Babin who delcared that he had received of Amant Hebert, tutor and curator of the minors of the deceased Joseph Richard, certain sum which belongs to Ana Marie Richard, minor daughter, for her part of the inheritance which belongs to her from the property of her deceased mother, Cicilla Dupuis, and also a sum from her deceased father, Joseph Richard, and Simon Babin obligates himself toward the minor and for the payment of said sums, he mortgages: A plantation belonging to me situated in this District on the left bank of the Mississippi river, bounded on the upper part by lands of my step- father, Theodor Duga and below by those of Juan Bautista Leblanc, of six arpents of front with forty depth, the same possessed and purchased of Joseph Dupuis and Juan Lorenzo Pelegrin. Date: May 27, 1800 Appeared Bictorio Blanchard who declared that he had received of Amant Hebert, tutor and curator, of the minors of the deceased Joseph Richard, certain sum belonging to Cicilla Clemancia Richard, minor daughter, for her part from the sucn. of her deceased mother, Cicilla Dupuis and her part from the sucn. of ther deceased father, Joseph Richard. For the payment of same, he mortgages: A plantation belonging to me situated in this District on the left bank of the Mississippi river, bounded on the upper part by lands of Dn Santiago Fletcher and below by those of Ypolito Landry, composed of four arpents and a half of front with the ordinary depth of forty, the same which I possessed and purchased at the auction sale of my deceased father, Ignacio Babin. Date: May 27, 1800 Appeared Amant Hebert who declared that he holds certain sums which belongs to Maria Rosa Richard, for her part in the inheritance from her decd. mother, Cicilla Dupuis, for which he is obligated toward the minor. Date: May 28, 1800 Santiago McCulloch received of Amant Hebert, tutor and curator of the minors of the deceased, Joseph Richard, certain sum coming from the sucn. of Cicilla Dupuis, belonging to the minors, Joseph and Alexandro McCulloch, for their inheritance from their mother. Fermin Dupuy also appeared as curator also of the said minors.
