Jacques Oubre declares that the opposition which he had made about two years 
ago, on the partition of the succession left by his late mother, Marie Joseph 
St. Yve and his decd. step-father, Germain Magloire and which is found 
deposited in the hands of William Wikoff, Justice of the Peace of this County, 
had been to him, ill-advised, and that he disapproves of it in all its forms 
possible; that in consequence of this, he has investigated to enter into an 
arrangement with his co-heirs in order to evade all suits, difficulties and 
contestations among them, knowing and acknowledging their rights and claims in 
this succession, the most legitimate and the most founded, in these 
considerations, he declares to have preference over sum of $300 which his said 
decd. mother, and his decd. step-father, had acknowledged to owe him by their 
obligation of Nov. 9, 1785; he renounces to all rights of all properties and 
claims which is given him by this writing.
And further, $300 which his co-heirs accord to him with interests, that after 
expenses of sucn. are taken out, that he be among those among whom partition 
is made, with his co-heirs for the surplus of the sucn. This transaction made 
with Marie Joseph Oubre, widow of Nicolas Scalin and Michel Mahier, as 
reprening Charlotte Oubre, widow of Jean Marcel and charged with her 
procuration; and have named Michel Mahier to draw out the sum on deposit, as 
well as produce of sale of properties.
