Degree - P. Belly Judge decrees that according to the declaration of Jean Serret, and contents of act, notifications will be given to Rosalie Serret, major daughter, to Magloire Dupuis, husband of Henriette Serret, and to Pierre Sigur, maternal uncle and guardian of Antoine and Celestin Serret, minors. Notifications made. Date: September 7, 1805 Appeared: Rosalie Serret, major daughter; Magloire Dupuis, husband of Henriette Serret; and Pierre Sigur, uncle and guardian of Antoine and Celestin Serret, minors; who declared that they make cognizance of the resolution of Jean Serret, dated yesterday, and of the naming of Joseph Henry for appraisers; after which, they declare conjointly they are in accord and name Bernard D'Auterive to estimate the property of the sucn left by Anne Serret. Date: ? Observing the nominations made for appraisers, order that the appraisers be notified. Same date: ? Notification made to the appraisers. Date: Sept. 9, 1805 Oath of Joseph Henry and Bernard D'Auterive, appraisers. Decree by Judge P. Belly that the guardian of the minors take oath tomorrow. Date: Sept. 10, 1805 Oath of the guardian of the minors, Pierre Sigur. Decree - Ordering that the inventory would be held by P. Belly, Judge. Date: Sept. 11, 1805 Inventory The present plantation, situated at the above said County on the right bank of the Mississippi river, bounded above by the lands of Judge Pierre Belly and below by that of the Guardian, Pierre Sigur, composed of six arpents eighteen toises and three feet of front on the ordinary depth of forty, opening in its said depth, at ten degrees and perhaps, a half, including the buildings, enclosures in very bad condition which are found thereon, in a word, such as the said plantation might comprise and contain, excepting the standing crop, which plantation belongs to the succession for having been purchased by Mr. Jean Serret of David M.; All considerations made, estimated ** Date: Sept. 13, 1805 Declaration of debts to the sucn. and by the sucn. Date: Oct. 11, 1805 Family Meeting Appeared: Jean Serret in the presence of Pierre Sigur, maternal uncle of Antoine and Celestin Serret, his minor children; of Magloire Dupuis, husband of Henriette Serret and of Rosalie Serret, major daughter, all heirs of their decd. mother, Anne Sigur; has declared that his community owes that which is stated in act of Sept. 13 to Joseph Orillion Sr. and Joseph Henry, but that as to sale of property dependent on the community between the decd. Anne Sigur and Jean Serret, is null and of no effect. That they herein agree to accept the price of estimation of the property dependent on the community between Jean Serret and the decd. wife Anne Sigur, placed in two parts, one-half for the widower, and the other half divided into five equal portions; from which one, will belong to the same Jean Serret as heir of his decd. daughter, Manette, dead some months; one part to Henriette and another to Rosalie, major children; and for the other two parts, belonging to Antoine and Celestin Serret, minors which he will keep until their ages of majority; Jean Serret has mortgaged the plantation inventoried, until obligations satisfied. Date: May 6, 1806 At request of Jean Serret, of Pierre Sigur, maternal uncle and tutor of Antoine and Celestin Serret, minors and as representing Rosalie Serret, absent for present, major; Pierre Belly, Judge, proceeds to liquidation, partition and distribution of the property dependent on the community between Serret and his decd. wife. Money - deducting $6,000 which Jean Serret had brought to marriage contract dated Sept. 18, 1782. Date: May 6, 1806 Appeared: Magloire Dupuis and Henriette Serret, his wife who declared receipt of Jean Serret, their father and father-in-law, for Henriette's share in inheritance left by her mother, Anne Sigur.
