Jean Serret, who left 4 children named: Henriette, Rosalie, Antoine and Celestin; the first being married to Magloire Dupuis, the second being 19 years; the third and fourth being minors, and in consequence the Judge accompanied by Francois Maurice and Godfrois Roth goes to the place of the decd. where he finds the children and Pierre Sigur and Jean Bte Lorrie, the first, brother-in-law of the decd. and the 2nd, his friend. Decree dated Dec. 26, 1806 - ordering that the minors, Antoine and Celestin Serret have a tutor, the first to choose same and the 2nd to be chosen by a family meeting. Notice to Pierre Sigur, maternal uncle. Notice to Magloire Dupuis, husband of Henriette Serret. Notice to Rosalie Serret, major. Notice to Antoine Serret, so that he name a tutor. Same date - Appeared Antoine Serret, naming for his tutor, Magloire Dupuis, his brother-in-law. Same date - Appeared Pierre Sigur, maternal uncle, Magloire Dupuis, and Rosalie Serret who form family meeting to name a tutor for Celestin Serret; They name Magloire Dupuis. Decree that the tutor named be made to accept tutorship. Acceptance dated Dec. 27, 1806 of Magloire Dupuis, as tutor. Decree that appraisers be named to inventory property. Notice to Pierre Sigur, to Magloire Dupuis, to Rosalie Serret. Naming appraisers. Acceptances of appraisers. Decree ordering inventory and notices. Notices to Pierre Sigur, to Magloire Dupuis, to Rosalie Serret, to Jacques Devilliers, appraisers and other appraiser. Date: Jan. 3, 1806 Inventory - movables And the interested parties mention that the property be sold at public auction. Also they declare other debts. Date: Jan. 25, 1807 Appeared Magloire Dupuis, as tutor of Antoine and Celestin Serret, he gives mortgage on: The plantation where he resides situated in this County on the right bank of the Mississippi river, bounded above by the properties of Nicolas Orillion and below by those of the late Antoine Blanchard, composed of about fourteen arpents of front on the depth of eighty. The same which belongs to him for having been had part from Mister Anselme Blanchard, part from the acquisition from Blaise Rivet and of Pierre Moise Forest (Joseph Mollere, Surety on $12,000 Bond.) And Aubry Dupuis, as Surety for his brother, Magloire Dupuis, also mortgages the following: The plantation where he resides situated in this County on the right bank of the Mississippi river, bounded above by the properties of his mother, Widow Brantau and below by those of Michel Lambremont, composed of three arpents and a half of front on eighty arpents of depth. The same which he had purchased of the said lady, his mother.
