Date: June 3, 1791 Signed by Pedro Pedesclaus, Public Writer, stating that seizure of property of creditors of Etienne Watts would be made. Certified by Daniel Clark that he approves. Date: June 8, 1791 By order of the decree of the Government of May 26, 1791 and for security of the rights of the creditors on the property of Etienne Watts, the Commandant proceeds to place the seal on the movable, property and papers. Date: June 10, 1791 By order of the Government of this Province, Dn. Estevan Miro, dated May 26, 1791, in which he was enjoined to suspend even the crop, for execution against the property of Etienne Watts, by the decree of May 4, past, and proceeds to the inventory of the following: A plantation situated on the right bank of Mississippi river, adjacent above to a tract belonging to Mr. Olivier and below to another tract belonging to the said Watts, containing about ten arpents of front on the said river on the ordinary depth of forty arpents, * * * about forty arpents of bad enclosure, and about fifty arpents of arable land. A tract without any building or enclosure adjacent above to the plantation stated preceding and below to that of Mr. Belly, containing about eight arpents of front on forty of depth, on which there are about seventy arpents of newly cleared land, without therein including the grain crop, of indigo. Date: October 14, 1791 By virtue of order dated Oct. 5, 1791, of Dn. Estevan Miro, proceed to Public Sale of property of Etienne Watts, at the request of the creditors of the said Etienne Watts, represented by Mr. Daniel Clark; the usual oaths taken, but before proceeding, the crops of indigo must be gathered. Date: November 9, 1791 Order of Dn Estevan Miro, Governor General, to the Commandant, Nicolas DeVerbois, stating that the wife of Etienne Watts, Mrs. Franca Ashelon prohibits the sale of his property. Statement in French that the wood sent to this Capital (New Orleans, on the 26th of March 1792) under the charge of the mulatto form part of the property seized, of Mr. Watts. Signed by Daniel Clark.
