Sale - Joseph Braud to Firmain Pengrasse Landry

A tract situated in this County, on the left bank of the Mississippi river, 
adjacent above to the properties of Joseph Dosite Babin and below to those of 
Simon Broussard, composed of four arpents of front on forty of depth, opening 
at two degrees; the buildings, enclosures, and other things which might be 
found thereon, in a word, such as is comprised and contained, without any 
reserve or condition whatsoever, which belongs to him for having been 
purchased with four arpents of land, of front, besides, and forty of depth, 
and an opening of two degrees, of Mr. Joseph Barnard, as testamentary executor 
of the late Nicolas Trist, by act passed before Nicolas DeVerbois, former 
Commandant of the District of Iberville, on date of the 20th of September 
1785, which is deposited in the archives of this County; which Mr. Trist had 
purchased these eight arpents of land of front on forty of depth with four 
degrees of opening, of the heirs of the late Joseph Braud, uncle of the 
present vendor, by act deposited in these said Archives on date of the 5th of 
January 1783, and the same decd. Joseph Braud had obtained the ownership 
according to as it is confirmed by figurative plan and title of concession 
which was accorded him by the Government of S. M.C. on date of the 3rd of 
January 1776, which have been remitted meanwhile, to Firmain Pengrasse Landry 
and remains always in his hands.
