That after having pladed this land in condition and having kept it up nearly eighteen years, having been again in need of a new levee, finding too much work and trouble which occasioned them by this land; they decided to cede the half to Narcis and Donate Ebert by act passed Aug. 6, 1802, in a manner that of this ownership, there belonged to them not more than five arpents of front on forty of depth, bounded above by that of Donate and Narcis Ebert and below by the land of the same Joseph Michel Leblanc. That up to this time, his said brother, Jean Baptiste Dupuis has more than he, kept up and maintained the above said land and at more expense; in order to indemnify his brother, Simon Joseph Dupuis sells to Jean Baptiste Dupuis: All his rights on the five arpents of land of front and forty of depth which there remained to them in partnership, of the ten arpents of land of front with forty of depth which they had purchased in the same manner of Paul Chiason by act passed the 19th of Sept. 1786, which is deposited in the archives of this County.
