Dn Juan Harrison, in accord with his (Dumford's) colleague, Dn Guillermo Stephen of the Merchants of said city (New Orleans) as confirmed by the contract dated Oct. 9, 1800 - To Roberto Mitchell A tract of the property of the said deceased Dn Juan Harrison situated in this said District on the left bank of the Mississippi river, bounded on the upper part by lands of the Dominion of His Majesty, on which I hold a claim, and below by those of Luis D'Annequin, composed of eighteen arpents more or less of front with the depth which corresponds to it, which belongs to the succession of the above said deceased, Dn Juan Harrison for having been purchased, like this: six arpents more or less of front, of Juan Carlos Comau, other six aprents also more or less, of front, of the deceased Pedro Clouatre according to the deeds executed before Dn Nicolas DeVerbois, Commandant who was we understand of the said District, on the first day of the month of September of the year passed of one thousand seven hundred ninety-five and the other six arpents more or less, of front remaining, was purchased by Santiago McDonnell of Simon Pedro Babin, resident of the mentioned District by deed executed before the said Commandant on the 26th of the same month of September of the mentioned year of one thousand seven hundred ninety-five, said sale being for the security of the above said deceased Dn Juan Harrison, and on account of not being able to satisfy, the said Santiago McDonnell, in the sum stipulated in the referred sale payable to the above said Harrison, the said sum, by order of the Governor General who was we understand, the Baron of Carondelet, as appears by the office of date 24th of November of the year of 1796 deposited in this archive, by which result, rests the mentioned land belonging to the mentioned succession. And I sell said land with the edifices and fences which are encountered on the same and in the same condition in which it is found.
