All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Crystal Devillier oneonone@cox.net December 22, 2006, 3:56 pm Written: April 15, 1795 Date: April 15, 1795 Sale - Paul Ebert, Jr. to Jean Dupuis, with the consent of Mrs. Anne Ebert, his mother A tract situated in this District on the right bank of the Mississippi river, adjacent above to the lands of Alexandre Landry and below to that of Joseph Aubris Dupuis, containing five arpents four toises of front on the ordinary depth of forty, the buildings, enclosures which are thereon, in a word, such as it comprises and contains at present, without any reserves, whatsoever; which belongs to him for having been purchased of Mr. Paul Ebert, his father, by act passed before Mister Dutisne my predecessor and deposited in the archives of this Commandant, on the date of the 10th of February 1780. And as by one of the clauses of this said sale, it is said that the same Mr. Paul Ebert, Sr. and Mrs. Margueritte Melancon, his wife reserve the use of this plantation during their lifetime, both herein present etc. and they declare that they abandon the said use of the plantation as if it did not exist. Acquittance - Dated March 23, 1798 - Mrs. Margueritte Braud widow of Paul Hebert to Jean Dupuy. For receipt of price of sale of land which Dupuy had purchased of the late Paul Hebert.
