Joseph Babin to Simon Forret: His plantation situated at the High Lands of the District of Manchak at one league from the Mississippi river, at the Hill fronting Bayou Fountaine, adjacent above to the lands of Gregoir Babin and below that is to say to the right, to those of Pierre Babin, containing two hundred forty arpents in superficie, the buildings and enclosures which be theron, in the surplus, such as it comprises and contains, which belonged to him for having been conceded by the Government about three years ago. Date: July 19, 1793 Joseph Babin who declared that desiring to give sufficient security to Simon Forret, he mortgages his plantation situated in this Post, on the left bank of the Mississippi river, adjacent above to the lands of Widow Theodor Rivet, and below to those of Simon Joseph Dupuy, containing seven arpents of front on the ordinary depth of forty, which belongs to him for having been exchanged by the act said hereinabove; this accepted by Simon Forret.
