All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Crystal Devillier oneonone@cox.net December 23, 2006, 10:14 pm Written: September 20, 1796 Date: September 20, 1796 Sale - Phillippe Roth to Pierre Belly A tract of four arpents and a half of front on the Mississippi river, situated in this District, on the depth of eighty arpents, with the opening of six degrees, fifteen minutes as it is so confirmed by the arpentage and double concession accorded to the said Mr. Phillippe Roth on the date of the 1st and 18th of July of the present year, which are in his hands; which land borders above to his plantation and below to that of my said Mr. Belly; which belongs to the vendor for having been acquired of the latter who had sold it to him by virtue of the authority and power of his Lordship, Mr. Manuel Gayoso de Lemos, Governor of the place and District of Natchez, on the date of the 21st of April passed, as it is so confirmed by the act of sale which he had passed him, the 22nd of the said month, deposited in the archives of this Commandant and which is approved by the Governor General of this province by his office on the date of 21st of May passed. Understood that the said land has four arpents and twenty-nine toises of front and not four arpents and a half as it is said hereinabove.
