Copy of land conceded to Dn. Marcos de Villiers on Bayou Manchac

Dn. Carlos Trudeau, Royal and Special Surveyor of the Province of Lousisana. I 
certify that having measured in favor and in the presence of the Lieutenant 
Dn. Marcos Coulon de Villiers and in the presence also of the immediate 
neighbors, a land of eight hundred arpents squared in superficie, measured 
with the string (measuring stick) of the City of Parish, (French measure) of 
eighteen feet of the King's (measure) of width, according to the use and 
custom of this Colony, which tract is situated in the District of Galvestown, 
bounded on the north by the southern bank of the Bayou Manchac, and on the 
East by the land Juan Harison, and on the other sides, by vacant lands of the 
Dominion of His Majesty, the lines are parallel, directing in depth to the 
South forty degrees toward the East of the compass, without joining at the 
variation in those boundaries marked out by limits, the landmarks and trees 
figured in the plan, the survey having been gratified, in conformity with the 
decree of the Governor General on the date of the 30th of the month of January 
of the year 1794, with the foregoing figurative plan.
