(Donaldsonville, La.) 1871-current, June 02, 1917, Page 3 June 2, 1917 Nottaway Plantation Changes Hands. - A. L. Greenwood, of Belle Alliance, and his brother-in-law, Henry J. Gassie, of New Orleans, have purchased from Dr. W. G. Owen the Nottaway plantation in Iberville parish, near Bayou Goula, paying $65,000 therefor. The place comprises approximately 1200 acres, of which 800 acres are in a state of cultivation. Included in the sale was the small Idlewild tract adjoining Nottaway, used for residential purposes. The present manager of the plantation, Allen Blouin, will be retained in that capacity. There is a magnificent crop on the place, and a fine yield of both cane and corn is promised this season. Mr. Greenwood, who for many years has served as field manager of the Belle Alliance plantation in upper Assumption parish, now owned by the Shamrock Land and Planting Company, will continue to fill that position, at any rate until the end of the year.
