She was 85 years old, a native of Iberville Parish and a resident of White Castle. The body is at the Wilbert Funeral Home in Plaquemine until 10:15 a.m. Saturday. Services will be held at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Plaquemine at 10:30 a.m. mass Saturday. Burial will be in the church cemetery. She was preceded in death by her husband, Emile H. Beyris. Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. John (Sallie Gilbert)Pearson of New Orleans and Mrs. Fred (Ethel Gilbert)Guiteau of Ponchatoula: four brothers, Welman J. Gilbert os White Castle, Floyd A. Gilbert of Dallas, Texas, Cullen T. Gilbert os Hattiesburg, Miss., and Hampton H. Gilbert of New Orleans; and a number of nieces and nephews. Additional Comments: Ella Gilbert was the 1st child of Welman (Wellman) Nicholas Gilbert and Cora Smith Gilbert. The small clipping was cut from the newspaper by a niece, a daughter of Sallie Gilbert Pearson, who attended the funeral and burial of Ella Gilbert Beyris. Her mother, Cora Smith Gilbert, died sometime after Nov. 27, 1882. Her father Welman Nicholas Gilbert married a second time, 2nd wife was Delphine, and they had 5 children.
