Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon for Ricky Laine Fairchild, two-month old son of Mr. and Mrs. J.R. Fairchild of Rosedale who died Saturday at 3 a.m. at the Baton Rouge General hospital. Remains rested at the Welsh Funeral home in Baton Rouge and religious rites were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Wilson Memorial Methodist church in Lottie Burial was in the Cottonwood cemetery. Besides his parents the child is survived by two sisters, Mrs. D. A. Charleville of Grosse Tete and Mrs. Surillo Phillpa of Rosedale, two brothers, Jack M. Fairchild and James Roy Fairchild; his paternal grandmother, Mrs. W. H. Fairchild of Lottie and his maternal grandmother, Mrs. A. J. Qualdy of Rosedale. E.J. McGINNIS, 50, salesman for the D & W Paper Company fo New Orleans who was well known here in Plaquemine died suddenly at his home in Baton Rouge Saturday. he had been a resident of Baton Rouge for the past 31 years. His wife is the former Louise Voight of Plaquemine. Remains rested at the Welsh Funeral home in Baton Rouge until 8:45 a.m. Monday. Religious rites were held at 9 a.m. requiem high mass at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic church with the Rev. Louis Marionneaux officiating. Interment was in the St. John Catholic cemetery here. Besides his wife he is survived by one sister, Mrs. George C. Frandison of New Orleans. ---------------------------January 25, 1957---------------------------- Mrs. MARY DAIGLE MICHAEL, a native of Assumption parish, died in Plaquemine at 7:35 p.m. on Friday of last week. She was 69. She is survived by two sons, Sidney Michel of Morgan City and William Michel of Brusly; two daughters, Mrs. Paul Hudson and Mrs. Clarence Langlois of Plaquemine; six sisters, Mrs. Gus Michael of Morgan City, Mrs. Justillen Michael of Plaquemine, Mrs. Alcee Ackman of Belle River, Miss Irene Daigle, Miss Lizzie Daigle and Miss Eva Daigle, all of New Orleans; two brothers, George Daigle of New Orleans and Jules Daigle of Plaquemine; 15 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Last rites were held from the Wilbert Funeral Home here at 2:15 p.m. Saturday with religious services at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church here at 2:30. Interment was in the St. Elizabeth Cemetery in Paincourtville. HARRY J. BARBAY, 56, well-known Plaquemine building contractor who suffered a stroke about two years ago, died at his home here Monday at 11:30 p.m. He was a native of Plaquemine. Funeral services were held from the Wilbert Funeral home at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday and religious rites took place at 10:30 a.m. at the First Methodist church. Interment was in the Protestant cemetery. Mr. Barbay is survived by his wife, the former Arthe Rushing; four sons W____ Dale Barbay and Harry J. Barbay, Jr., both of Plaquemine, Kenneth R. Barbay, Sr. of Franklin and Glenn Berkley Barbay now serving in the Armed Forces in Corpus Christi, Tex.; two dauthters, Mrs. Edward Songy and Miss Carolyn Gail Barbay, both of Plaquemine; five sisters, Mrs. Louis Martin of Greenville, Miss., Miss Kate Barbay and Mrs. Lydia Sword of Baton Rouge, Mrs. Louis Marionneaux and Mrs. J.E. Ocmand, both of Plaquemine; four brothers, Ernest Barbay, of Greenville, Miss., Allen Barbay, Jack Barbay and Charles Barbay, all of Plaquemine; uncle, __.M. Brooks of Plaquemine and 10 grandchildren. JAMES DANIEL "DAN" NEREAUX, a native of Grosse Tete and resident of New Orleans for many years died at his home there at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday. He was 63. A butcher by trade he was a veteran of World War I having served overseas. His mother, Mrs. Julia Nereaux resides at Grosse Tete. His father was the late Edmond Nereaux. Funeral services are scheduled from the Landry-Montz Funeral home in Donaldsonville today (Friday) at 9:45 a.m. to be followed by religious rites at Ascension Catholic church at 10 o'clock. Interment will be in the Ascention Catholic cemetery. Mr. Nereaux is survived by his wife, the former Lucille Cannon; one son, J.D. Nereaux, Jr. of Modesta, Calif; one daughter Dorothy Nereaux of New Orleans, four brothers, Walter Nereaux, Hubert Nereaux, and Jack Nereaux of Grosse Tete; two sisters, Mrs. Louis Wille and Mrs. Paul Acosta of Grosse Tete; one step-brother, Ignation Mahola of New Roads; two grandchildren and numerous nieces and neighbors. FRANK ALLEMAN. Funeral services, were held Saturday for Frank Alleman who died at his home here on Friday of last week at 6:30 p.m. He was a native of St. Mary Parish. Remains rested at the Wilbert Funeral home with religious rites at 4 p.m. Saturday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic church here. Interment was in the Our Lady of Prompt Succor cemetery in White Castle. Survivors include three sons, Achille and Albert Alleman, both of Destrehan; and Alvin Alleman of Plaquemine; two daughters, Mrs. O. Deniges of Plaquemine and Miss Lelia Alleman of Donaldsonville; one sister, Mrs. Joseph Hernandez of donaldsonville; one brother, Reno Alleman of Donaldsonville; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. EMY_DE J. TASSIN. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon from the Wilbert Funeral home for Emy_de J. Tassin of Bayou Goula who died at 6:30 p.m. Monday at Dr. Tomeny's hospital in White Castle. A native of Bayou Goula, he was 79 and made his home in Plaquemine. Religious rites were held at St. Paul's Catholic church in Bayou Goula at 4:30 Tuesday with interment in St. Raphael's cemetery at Point Plesant. Mr. Tassin is survived by one daughter; Mrs. W. O. Berger of Joplin, Mo; one sister, Miss Emelie Tassin of Plaquemine; two brothers, Fernand Tassin of Plaquemine and Hamilton Tassin of Bayou Goula; three grandchildren and seven nieces. MRS PAUL H. MONSON, the former Laura Ramirez of Plaquemine, died at Our Lady of The Lake Sanitarium at 9:10 a.m. Tuesday and final rites were held here Wednesday afternoon. Mrs. Monson, who was 56, was a native of Donaldsonville. Remains rested at the Wilbert Funeral home from which services were held Wednesday. Religious rites were held at 3:00 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic church followed by interment in the St. John cemetery. Mrs. Monson is survived by her husband, Paul H. Monson of Plaquemine; five sons, A.J. Monson of Baton Rouge, P.A. Monson of Danville, Ill., and Charles H. Monson, E. J. Monson and John L. TERRY JERONE DOIRON. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon for Terry Jerome Doiron, 11 month old son of Mr. and Mrs. Lindsey W. Doiron of Bayou Sorrel. He was a native of Plaquemine. The child died at the Plaquemine Sanitarium at 10:30 p.m. on Friday of last week. Remains rested at the Wilbert Funeral home from which services were held. Interment was in the Protestant cemetery here. Besides his parents he is survived by two sisters, Cer___ E. and Denise A. and two brothers, Ralph J. and Lindsey W., Jr. all of Plaquemine, also his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Theodore Doiron and his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Theriot, all of Bayou Botrell. The child's mother is the former Evelyn Theriot. ULYSSES BOUDREAUX, 96, grandfather of Cleveland Boudreaux of Plaquemine, died at the home of his son in Oscar at 8:30 a.m. on Jan 31. He was a native of Assumption parish and a resident of Oscar for the past 14 years. Remains were transferred from the Niland Funeral home in New Roads on Friday, Feb 1, to Ourso's Funeral Home in donaldsonville. Rites were held on Feb 2 at St. Elizabeth's catholic church in Paincourtville followed by Interment in the church cemetery. Mr. Boudreaux is survived by two sons, Albert of Oscar and Richard of Belle Rose; two daughters, Mrs. Louis Simoneaux of New Orleans and Sidney rodrigue of Belle Rose; one sister, Mrs. Victoria Simmoneaux of New Orleans; 51 grand children and 23 great-great grandchildren. HARVEY LOUIS ROSHTO, 65, father of Mrs. Sidney Albert of Plaquemine, died at 2 p.m. on Friday, Jan 25, at his home in Port Allen. Remains rested at the wilbert Funeral home in Port Allen. Survivors include his wife, Lily Pearce Roshto; his stepmother, Mrs. Evelyn Roshto of Baton Rouge; five sons, Richard I of Baton Rouge, Elex R., Alfred and Carlisle of Port Allen and E.J. of New Orleans; one stepson, James Parnell, Jr. of Fort Lewis, Wash., one daughter Mrs. Albert; five sisters, Mrs. Jeff Davenport of Pineville, Mrs. Arthur C. UNICE LOUIS PENN. Funeral services for Unice Louis Penn, 44 year old Plaquemine resident, were held at 4 p.m. tuesday at St. John the Evangeline Catholic church. Burial was in the church cemetery. Mr. Penn died at 12:30 p.m. Monday. He was a poultryman. Mr. Penn is survived by his widow the former Lorna G(?)isler; two sons, Leo and Michael Penn; four daughters, Mrs. Lorraine Dunndigan; Carrol Ann, Lorna and Kay Frances Penn, all of Plaquemine; two sisters, Mrs. Harry Foy of New Orleans and Mrs. Sherman Banta of Plaquemine; two brothers, Wilmer Penn of Brusly; and Erwin Penn of Jennings and one grandchild, Pamela Ann Dunnigan. RALPH ADOLPH ROTH, former Plaquemine resident who has made his home in Phoenix, Aris. for the past 30 years, died Saturday, Feb 2 of a heart attack at the age of 50. Funeral services were held Tuesday of last week from the Whitney and Murphy Chapel with Requiem High Mass at the St. Mark's Catholic church. Burial was in the St. Francis cemetery in Phoenix. He was the son of the late Celestin Roth and Pauline LeBlanc Roth. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Blanche Roth, one daughter, Teresa Irene Roth, and three sisters, Miss Irene roth, Mrs. Murphy Breaux and Mrs. Louis Hill, all of Plaquemine. Mrs. Breaux and her daughter Mrs. Pauline ____, attended the funeral services in Phoenix. CARMELO GUERCIO. Funeral services for Carmelo Guercio, 77 year old native of Italy and redtired Plaquemine businessman, were held Saturday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic church. Burial was in St. John's cemetery here. Mr. Guercio died at 9:25 p.m. on Thursday of last week at his home here. He came to Plaquemine at the age of 21 and established a fish shipping business at Brown's Landing at the foot of Court Street. His associate in the business was the late Sam Distefano. Mr. Guercio later established a grocery business at the present site of Heck's Grocery and retired from active participation in the business about eight years ago. The store is now operated by his son, Sam. After his retirement Mr Guercio derived a great deal of pleasure from raising chrysanthemums, a hobby which proved profitable as well as enjoyable. His wife was the former Frances Fertitta who died in 1949. He is survived by three sons, Thomas A. Guercio of Brownsville, Tex., Sam A. Guercio of Plaquemine and Frank Guercio of New Orleans; three duaghters, Mrs. Joseph Cashiola and Mrs. Phillip Hymel, Jr., both of Plaquemine, and Mrs. E. W. Beadle of New Orleans; one sister, Mrs. Rosa Difatti of Hattiesburg, Miss., two brothers, J.A. Guercio of Baton Rouge and Charles Guercio of Shreveport; 14 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. BEN N. BOUY. Funeral services for Ben N. Bouy, 74 year old resident of Port Allen were held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the Wilbert Funeral Home in Port Allen. Burial was in the Protestant cemetery at Plaquemine. Mr. Buoy was a native of St. James parish. he died at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of the Lake sanitarium in Baton rouge. Buoy of Plaquemine; 23 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. MRS. EMMA KURZWEG LEBLANC. Funeral rites were held here Tuesday morning for Mrs. Emma Kurzweg LeBlanc, who died at the Plaquemine Sanitarium at 6:20 a.m. Monday. She was 70 and a native and resident of Plaquemine. The wife of the late Henry J. LeBlanc, Sr., Mrs. LeBlanc is survived by one son, Henry J. LeBlanc, Jr. of Baton Rouge; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Ray Kent of Ponchatoula, and one brother, V. J. Kursweg, Sr. of Plaquemine. Remains rested at the Wilbert Funeral Home from which services were held with a requiem mass at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic church here. Interment followed in the St. John cemetery. ---------------------January 3, 1958------------- JOSEPH DENNIS LANDRY, SR., a native and lifelong resident of West Baton Rouge parish who is well known in this area, died at 5:07 a.m. Monday. He was 87. Remains rested at the Wilbert Funeral Home in Port Allen from which services were held Tuesday morning. Religious rites took place at 10 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic church in Brusly. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Mr. Landry is survived by his wife, the former Clelie Hebert; eight sons, Earl, Lynn J., Dennis, Jr. and Carlie, all of Baton Rouge, clifford of Brusly, Kenneth of New Roads and Doyle and Ray of Port Allen; two daughters, Mrs. E. LUCY POMPONEAUX BOURGOYNE, widow of Thelphile Bourgoyne, died at the Plaquemine Nursing Home at 6(?).30 p.m. Friday of last week. Final rites were held Sunday. Mrs. Bourgoyne, who was 83, was a native of Ascention parish. Her husband died two years ago. Funeral services were held from the Wilbert Funeral Home with religious rites at St. John the Evangelist Catholic church at 3 p.m. Sunday. Interment was in the St. John cemetery here. Only a few cousins survive and one godchild, Mrs. Dorris Crutti Maring of Brusly. Cousins include Mrs. Vince Rosso of Plaquemine and Mrs. Cecile Pomponeaux Hayden of Baton Rouge. ---------------January 17, 1958------------ MRS. LENA LEBLANC HEBERT, wife of the late Louis Hebert. She was White Castle postmaster for many years and mother of the present postmaster, Allan F. Hebert, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Roger Barlow of White Castle at 12:22 (?)m. Wednesday. A member of a pioneer family in Iberville parish, Mrs. Hebert was 79. Born in Donaldsonville she had resided in White Castle almost all of her life. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ham LeBlanc of White Castle. Funeral services were held at 9 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Prompt succore Catholic church in White Castle. Interment was in the Ascension Catholic cemetery in Donaldsonville. Mrs. Hebert is survived by two sons I. B. and Allan F. Hebert both of White Castle; two daughters, Mrs. Barlow and Mrs. Lena MacMury, obth of White Castle; one sister, Mrs. Paul Viallon also of White Castle; two brothers, F. Sam LeBlanc of Plaquemine and A. Owen LeBlanc of Metairie, nine grand-children and eight gret-grandchildren. "Amite Crash Victim Buried Here Thurs." Burial was held here Thursday for MRS. GWENDOLYN ROBERTSON KOPEPFLER, 67, who was killed when her stalled car was struck by a freight train just outside Amite Tuesday afternoon. She was a native of Iberville parish and resident of Hammond. Mrs. Koepfler was the widow of William Koepfler and the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Blount Robertson of Plaquemine. She was born on Hunter's Lodge plantation here and was a member of one of Iberville parish's pioneer families. Numerous relatives reside here. Amont them are Mrs. Freddie Killingsworth and Mrs. J. A. richard, Sr., cousins. Mrs. Koepfler was a filed worker in the Amite office of the State Department of Public Welfare, a post which she had held for about six years. She attended The Rosary of Sacred Heart convent in New Orleans, and graduated from the old Louisiana State Normal at Natchitoches. She is survived by two sons, John Koepfler of New Iberia and Edwin B. Koepfler of Barksdale Air Force Base, Shreveport; one daughter, Mrs. John Coinley of Baton Rouge and two brothers, Allen Robertson of Plaquemine and Arthur robertson of Pittsburgh, Pa. Final rites were held from the Thomas Funeral home in Hammond with religious rites there followed by burial in the St. John Catholic cemetery here. ------------------January 24, 1958---------------- Finel rites were held yesterday afternoon for MRS. PAUL OLANO, 80 of White Castle who died Monday at 10 p.m. at a White Castle hospital. She was the former Cecella Denoux and a native of McCall. Services were held from the Wilbert Funeral Home at 2:30 yesterday with religious rites at Our Lade of Pormpt Succor Catholic Church in White Castle at 3 p.m. She is survived by her husband; two sons, Paul F., Jr. of Washington D.C. and Neil of Alexandria, two daughters, Mrs. Ruth Allicio of New Orleans and Mrs. Ivan Acosta of Chicaco, Ill., one sister, Mrs. Lucille Treigle of New Orleans, three brothers, Henry Denoux of Baton Rouge, Raymond Denoux of Norco and Joseph Denoux of New Orleans; also four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Rites Held for N.A.M. JACKSON of Maringouin, businessman, died at his home there on Jan. 11 following a long illness. He was a native of London, England and a resident of Maringouin for the past 28 years. He was 63. Jackson was a past president of the Delta State Ice Association. He served with the British Navy in World War I. Funeral services were held on Monday, Jan 13, at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic church in Maringouin. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Survivors include his wife, the former Rhitte Bahm; his mother, Mrs. J.A. Jackson of Maringouin; three daughters, Mrs. William A. Clark of Baton Rouge, Mrs. Mary Himel of Maringouin and Mrs. A.J. Bradley of Parawa Terrace, N.O.; also eight grandchildren. -------------------January 31, 1958------------------ PAUL THELEAMA BOUDREAUX, 73, died at the Plaquemine Sanitarium at 5:15 p.m. Thursday after a sudden illness. He was a native of Ascension parish and a long time resident of Iberville parish. He had made his home in Plaquemine for the past several years. Services were held from the Wilbert Funeral Home yesterday morning with a requiem mass at St. John the Evangelist Catholic church at 10 a.m. Interment was in the St. John Cemetery. Mr. Boudreaux is survived by his wife, the former Maud Richard, three sons, Freddie and Clinton of Plaquemine and __.C. of New york, two duaghters, Mrs. Norman _____ of Plaquemine and Mrs. Claude Arcement of Westwego; one sister Mrs. Augustine Doiron of Marrero and nine grandchildren. Funeral services are set at 9:30 this morning (Friday) for FRANK JOSEPH JOHNSON, who died at his home here at 11:10 p.m. Wednesday. He was 78. Remains are resting at the Wilbert Funeral Home. Religious rits will be held at St. John the Evangelist Catholic church and Interment will follow in the St. John cemetery. Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife, the former Clelia Petit; one son, Earl Johnson of Plaquemine, two daughters, Mrs. George Arbour of New Orleans and Mrs. John Boudreaux of Lockport; two half brothers, Andrew Johnson of New Orleans and Eddie Johnson of Lavonia; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held in White Castle yesterday morning for FELIX BERGERON, 55, who died in New Orleans at 5:55 p.m. Tuesday. He was a native of White Castle and a resident of New Orleans. He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Noelle Percle of New Orleans and Mrs. Levie Blank of White Castle. He was a brother of the late Supple, Nat, Norbert and Robert Bergeron. Burial ws in the church cemetery. ----------------February 7, 1958-------------- Interrment was held here Monday for Mrs. Marie Martinez Broussard, a former resident of Plaquemine who died at the Baton Rouge General Hospital Sunday at 12:45 p.m. Mrs. Broussard was a native of White Castle and a resident of Port Allen. She was 65. Rites were held from the Wilbert Funeral home in Port Allen with a requiem mass at the Holy Family Catholic church here. Survivors include two sons, M.L. "Bruce" Broussard of Baton Rouge and P.O. Broussard of Lake Jackson, Texas; five daughters, Mrs. J. E. Hebert of Plaquemine, Mrs. E.J. Carone, Mrs. E.L. Newsham, Mrs. R.D. Landry and Mrs. J.C.
