"Couzan" Romig, 86, a resident and native of Maringouin, died Sunday, July 20, 2008, at Pointe Coupee General Hospital. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Visiting at Crossfire Tabernacle in Rosedale on Tuesday, July 22, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Visiting resumes at the tabernacle on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Wayne Romig, the Rev. James Troy Romig and the Rev. Jerry Arnold. Interment in Rosedale Cemetery. Survived by his wife of 67 years of marriage, Odeile Bellot Romig; three sons and daughters-in-law, Leroy James and Bobbie Jo Romig, Joe and Sue Romig and Wayne and Mary Ann Romig; seven grandchildren, Remi LeJeune, James Troy Romig and wife Deshae, Kevin Romig and wife Christy, Jason Romig and wife Shelia, Sherry Averett, Todd Romig and Jonathon Romig; seven great-grandchildren, Jori LeJeune, Jessica Romig, Brooke Romig, Blair Romig, Austin Averett, Baylie Romig and Aaron Averett; nephew that he raised, Bradley Bellot and wife Bonita; and many other special children whose lives he has touched. Preceded in death by his parents, Jessie and Daisy Hafford Romig; sister, Leavina Fitzgerald; and two brothers, Charles and Jeff Romig. Pallbearers will be his grandsons and nephew, Bradley.
