He was 19. Visiting was at Demby & Son Funeral Home, Donaldsonville, 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Monday. Visiting at Ebenezer Baptist Church, Barrow Street, Plaquemine, 5 p.m. until religious services at 8 p.m. Monday, conducted by the Rev. Lionel W. Johnson Sr. Dismissal at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Interment in Grace Memorial Park, Plaquemine. Survived by his mother, Bennyfer Butler Governor, Plaquemine; his father, Oliver Wendell Governor, Hawthorne, Calif.; maternal grandfather, Isaac Butler Sr., Plaquemine; paternal grandmother, Gladys Governor, Addis; and numerous aunts, great-aunts, uncles, great-uncles, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Delores Davis Butler. He was a 1999 graduate of Plaquemine High School. MENDOZA, HUBERT LOUIS Owner of Mendoza Marine Inc. and a resident of Bayou Sorrel-Plaquemine, he died at 10:50 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, 2000, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, Baton Rouge. He was 65 and a native of Iberville Parish. Visiting was at Wilbert Funeral Home, Plaquemine, from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday and after 8 a.m. Monday. Religious services at the funeral home at 1 p.m. Monday, conducted by the Rev. Curtis Silcox. Interment in Grace Memorial Park, Plaquemine. Survived by his wife, Martha Allen Mendoza, Bayou Sorrel; two daughters and sons-in-law, Marilyn Mendoza Ebeling and Wayne Ebeling, Bayou Sorrel, and Lana Mendoza Everhart and Michael Everhart, Bayou Plaquemine; two sons, Doyle Mendoza, Rosedale, and Morris Mendoza, Bayou Sorrel; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Beverly Mendoza Ray and Lloyd Ray Port Allen, Lillie Mendoza Alexander and Ruth Mendoza Pence, both of Baton Rouge; eight brothers, Dory, Ivan, Calvin, Charles, Jerry, Dean and Mark Mendoza, all of Bayou Plaquemine; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by a son, Gerald; and father and mother, James Mendoza and Daisy Ashley Mendoza. RYLAND, LUCY GENUSA A homemaker and a resident and native of Fordoche, she died Saturday evening, Feb. 5, 2000, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center. She was 78. Visiting was at Niland's Funeral Home, Livonia, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Monday and 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. Religious services at Fordoche Baptist Church at 11 a.m. Tuesday, conducted by the Rev. Gary Mitchell. Interment in St. Frances Cabrini Cemetery, Livonia. GAUDET, JEAN RIVERE A homemaker and resident of Pierre Part, she died at 2:40 a.m. Monday, Feb. 7, 2000, in Morgan City. She was 86 and a native of Napoleonville. Visiting was at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Pierre Part, 10 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 2 p.m. Tuesday, celebrated by the Rev. Clarence Waguespack. Interment in church cemetery. Survived by a daughter, Mary Ann Marie Gaudet Daigle, Pierre Part; two sons, Shelby J. Gaudet and Gustave Joseph Gaudet, both of Pierre Part; three sisters, Elmer Blanchard and Edna Rivere, both of Brusly St. Vincent, and Ann LeBlanc, Donaldsonville; a brother, Gustave Joseph Rivere, Westwego; nine grandchildren, 17 great- grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
