This family came from GA and was in AL from Jan 1840 until at least 1844. Nathan's 4th son and 7th child was my ggf, Francis Marion WATSON, born 1849 in Jackson Parish LA. This family moved to Parker Co. TX ca. 1854 with Oliver Loving when he returned from a trail drive into central LA. Think most of those whe came to TX settled in Palo Pinto Co. TX, but Palo Pinto was the frontier and Nathan raised horses so he stayed in Parker Co. Wife and 5 of his older children died around 1870, my ggf only boy to reach adulthood. About 1874-1876 he returned to LA and took a wife Ruth SMITH. Family oral history states he returned to Vivian, Caddo Parish LA, but this was not near Jackson Parish! Ruth was one of 3 sisters and a boy who were orphans of Henry SMITH and wife of MS. One sister married a GOODRICH, the boy's name was Oliver and the other sister was Sarah SMITH who returned to TX with her sister and brother in law. Have been unable to document any of this information. Any help or suggestions appreciated. 12/13/97. Alonzo was killed in a poker game in Abbeville, La. in about 1905. His son Raymond (my grandfather) was born in Abbeville in about 1902. He later moved to Jackson Parish and married Mildred Bailey. They lived in Eros, La. and had seven children, six boys and one girl. One of those boys is my father, Bobby. No one seems to know the name of Alonzo's father. AL to Claiborne Parish [pre-Lincoln Parish]. Among them was Rebecca MORGAN HARPER [1800-1865] who was the widow of James Washington HARPER [1790 Elbert Co. GA - 1840 Shelby Co. AL]. I have much information on their descendants. His brothers Thomas Martin HARPER and Henry White HARPER also migrated. The latter's descendants became doctors for Lincoln Parish, as well as pastors, carpenters, and Confederate soldiers. William Webb Harper [m Lucy ALLEN] believed to be a brother. James Henry KIDD [1805 Elbert Co. GA - 1877 Lincoln Par. LA] and his wife Betsy E. Bailey [1807-1881] came. I have theirs and many family group sheets. Some KIDDs settled in Jackson Parish instead of Claiborne, Joseph Webb KIDD [1808-1855], brother of the above James Henry KIDD, being one. His wife was Elizabeth Caroline MOORE. Two of their children are the ones mentioned with the Kidd/Davis Home, now the Lincoln Parish Museum. Some of the KIDDs married LEWISes; HARPERs married BEVILLs. Have been to the parish library, and there are practically no records on these families. Need to find death/burial data for Rebecca Morgan HARPER. Other MORGAN researchers: is she the daughter Becky of your family? ==================== David A. He had a older brother Bennie D. He has a half brother Gene, and a half sister, perhaps named Virginia. I am looking for any genealogical information on them. The name of Gene and the sister's mother, marriage dates for Curtis and Novie, her parents names, death date for Curtis. Also, if anyone knew them, I would like general information. Researching MAZIE, MAZA, MAZY, MAZE, NEW, KIRKHAM, TAYLOR, PATTERSON, McCART, in Louisiana. ==================== Does anyone have any marriage record for Curtis MAZIE and Novie CULPEPPER? Their sons, Bennie D and Ausbin were born in the late 1920's and 1930 or 31 or 32. So I think late 1920's would be the time period for their marriage. Karon Mazie
