Curry has been holding a protracted meeting here for the last two weeks. Mrs. J. F. Sneed and little son, Finley, visited at Winnfield Sunday. Miss Lena Thurman of Shreveport, visited her sister, Mrs. Robt. Freeman here last week. Mr. Martin Grigsby of Elmore, spent the week end with his sister, Mrs. E. Blume. Mrs. Frank Swanson of Danville is visiting relatives here this week. Mr. Roy Rodgers of Minden, is visiting relatives and friends here. We regret very much the absence of Mr. Gordon Moore, who is now attending the L. I. I. at Ruston. Miss Julia Smith left last week for Jonesboro, where she will make her future home. Mr. Sam Barnard visited relatives here last week. Bro. Owens from Jonesboro filled his regular appointment at this place Saturday and Sunday.Mr. Sam Thomas made a business trip to Jonesboro Saturday. Mrs. L. A. Mayex spent the day in Ruston Tuesday. Mrs. Robert Freeman entertained at the hotel Saturday night in honor of her sister, Miss Lena Thurman. The Quitman string band was there and several pieces were played. After the music, refreshments were served. Those present were Misses Lena Thurman, Ruth Blume, Balmah Brooks, Sybol Finley, Addie Swanson, Hettie McMurry and Mrs. Mayex. Messre. Mayex, Martin, Grigsby, Neil, Thomas, Ben Jackson, Hardy Brooks. Sam Thomas, John Thrift and John Phillips. All report a jolly time
