The couple were Mr. and Mrs. J.H. Carpenter of Plano whose deaths occured there Oct. 6, 1930. Mrs. Carpenter's at 4:20 p.m. and Mr. Carpenter's at 10:20 p.m. The two died just a short time before their golden wedding anniversary, which they would have celebrated Nov. 25, 1930. Mr. Carpenter was born Jan. 2, 1859 near Plano, the son of the late Capt. R.W. Carpenter and Elizabeth Matthews Carpenter. Mrs. Carpenter was born April 24, 1862 near Vienna, Jackson Parish, Louisiana. They were married Nov. 25, 1880. Nine children and fourteen grandchildren survive them. The family had subscribed to the Dallas News Continuously for thirty-five years.
