ELECTION NEWS.

JACKSON PARISH.

A. J. Smith elected Clerk; W. T. Kidd Sheriff; Newton M. Smith,
Recorder, and A. W. Hightower, Assessor. The highest vote polled
was for Sheriff, an aggregate of 563 votes. Jackson before the
war voted nearly 900.
