All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************ Funeral services were held in Livingston, Texas, Friday, Jan 20, for Chester Adams, age 78, who died at his home there after a long illness. Mr. Adams was born in Winn Parish near Sikes, where he spent his early life, as a school teacher, teaching in several schools in Winn and Jackson Parishes. He was a retired Baptist minister, graduating from Mt. Lebanan College, and Southwestern Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. He made his home in Texas for the past 34 years. Mr. Adams is survived by his wife and two daughters, all of Texas; one brother , Watson Adams, Sikes; three sisters, Mrs. Myra Parker, Dodson, Mrs. Emma Griffin, Farmerville, Mrs. Ethel Griffen, West Monroe; two cousins, Mrs. Louisa Jordan, and Ivy Thompson, Sikes; and a number of nieces and nephews. Those attending the funeral from Sikes were Watson Adams, J.P. Adams, Mrs. Venail Parker, Marshall Adams and Mrs. Myra Parker of Dodson.
