After an illness of three weeks duration, Mr. John Gilbert died at
his home two miles east of Jonesboro Friday afternoon, and his
remains were laid to rest in the Ebeneezer cemetery at 12 o'clock
Saturday following impressive services. Deceased was a pioneer
citizen of this parish and had resided in this community throughout
his life. He was highly esteemed and respected and besides the
member of his family, leaves to mourn his loss an exceptionally wide
circle of devoted friends. Profound sympathy is extended to the
grief-stricken family.
