One of the saddest deaths it has been our duty to chronicle in a
long time was that of A. P. Guess, age 12 years, 9 months and 21
days, which occurred at the home of his parents, Mr. And Mrs. W. R.
Guess in Quitman Tuesday following several days illness with
pneumonia. The remains were brought to Jonesboro today and were
conveyed to the Jonesboro cemetery where funeral services were held.
The obsequies were largely attended, and his grave covered with
numerous floral offerings, the final tribute of a host of friends.
Every one in the community has been touched with grief with the
passing of this young man, and every heart goes out in sympathy to
the grief-stricken family.
