Mrs. Mangum was born December 22, 1912 in Comanche, Oklahoma to the late James A. Middleton and the late Mary I. (Copeland) Middleton. Funeral services will be held 9:30 AM Saturday, August 4, 2007 at First Assembly of God in Jonesboro with Reverend Phil Middleton and Reverend David Womack officiating. Interment will be at Duncan Cemetery in Waldron, Arkansas under the direction of Southern Funeral Home. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Mangum was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde William Dowda; son, Michael Lynn Dowda; four grandchildren; son-in-law, Richard L. Womack and her second husband Johnny Mangum. Mrs. Mangum is survived by two daughters, June Womack of Quitman, Claudia Brown and husband Bill of Ridgecrest, CA.; two sons, Jim Dowda and wife Norma Jean of Spokane Valley, WA., Don Dowda and wife Shelia of La Fayette, GA; daughter-in-law, Georgina Thrasher of Holiday Island, AR.; sixteen grandchildren; forty-three great-grandchildren; twenty-six great-great- grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. ===== William Kenneth Boyd (October 26, 1931 - August 15, 2007) Kinner & Stevens Funeral Home of Jena Bro. William Kenneth Boyd, age 75 of the Midway community, passed away at 1:45 p.m. Wednesday, August 15, 2007 at Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital. He was born October 26, 1931 in Catahoula Parish. His parents are the late Earl Boyd and Helen Marie McCready Boyd. He was also preceded in death by his wife Patsy Oglesby Boyd and by a grandson Brandon Lee. The Lord called him to the ministry and he served Him for forty five years. He had the priviledge of baptizing all of his children and his grandchildren. He performed the wedding ceremonies of three of his grandchildren. He was a member of the Calvary Heights Baptist Church, a retired insurance agent, and served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Survivors include: one son: Ray Boyd of Austin, Texas; two daughters: Darlene Roark and her husband Don of Carthage, Texas, and Aimee Lee and her husband Ronald of Midway, Louisiana; three sisters: Earlene Turner, of Jena, Dorthy McQuaig of Urania, and Marie Lizana of Tullos; five grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. Funeral services for Bro. Boyd will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 18, 2007 in the Chapel of Kinner & Stevens Funeral Home with Reverend Mark Benge officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodland Cemetery in Jena Louisiana. Friends may visit with the family in the funeral home on Friday from 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until time of services. Pallbearers will be: Jeremy Roark, Jay Roark, Justin Lee, Chip Arnould, Willie Draugh and Cody Pritchard. Honorary pallbearers will be: The Country Gentlemen, Tery King, Sonny Smith, Huey Martin, Roger Andrews, Tom Hennigan, Vernon Hawthorne and nephew, Vernon Parker. =====
