Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 26, in the Buck Edmonds Memorial Chapel with Dr. Herb Dickerson officiating. Burial was in the Jonesboro Cemetery under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home of Jonesboro. He was born in Star City, Ark., and was a long time resident of Jonesboro. For many years he was a partner of Mr. I. C. Blake in operating a local grocery store. He was a member of First Baptist Church, a deacon and was active in Sunday School and Brotherhood. He was preceded in death by his wife Stella Gay Heflin. Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Annie and James Elkins of Jonesboro, Mary Sue and James Goodloe of Las Vegas, Nev., and Lois and Gayle Wilke of Spring, Tex.; one brother, W. N. Heflin of Quitman and one sister Annie Mae Moore of Tyler, Tex.; nine grandchildren and eight grand children. Pallbearers were Raymond Borland, Lemoine McConathy, Troy Kennedy, Harold Kelly, M. C.
