Haile Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Orene Hay Haile, age 63, of Jonesboro were held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 5, 1988, in the First Baptist Church in Jonesboro. Dr. Herb Dickerson conducted the services. Burial was in the Walnut Ridge Cemetery near Quitman, under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home of Jonesboro. Mrs. Haile passed away after a lengthy illness. She was born in Bienville Parish, but was a lifelong resident of Jackson Parish. She graduated from Weston High School and attended Meadows-Draughn Business School. Mrs. Haile had worked at the Jackson Parish Bank for 43 years, and at the time of her death she was head bookkeeper. She served as Sheriff of Jackson Parish in 1959, after the death of her husband, Sheriff Lloyd Bryant. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Jonesboro, where she taught the second grade Sunday School Class. She is survived by her husband, John Haile of Jonesboro; two daughters, Mary Lloyd Bryant of Dallas, Texas, and Mrs. Brenda Beaver of Rayville; one step- son, John W. Haile of Monroe; two brothers, John Hay, Jr., of Buena Park, CA, and Emmett Hay of Jamestown; four sisters, Mrs. Edrie Murphy and Mrs. Sue Garris, both of Jonesboro, Mrs. Lois Watkins of Quitman and Mrs. Randa Price of Castor; four grandchildren, Daniel Beaver, Shelly Haile, Sissy Haile and John Haile. Pallbearers were Billy McDonald, Ross McDonald, Woody McDonald, Mike McDonald, Bill Jimmerson and Eddie Langston.
