Funeral services for Mrs. J. R. Hightower, 49 (whose death occurred
in a Shreveport hospital on Sunday, were held at the Chatham
Pentecostal church on Tuesday, March 28, with the Reverend Tom
Staggs officiating. Interment was in Douglas cemetery under the
direction of Kilpatrick's funeral home. Mrs. Hightower is survived
by her husband, three sons, J. D., Judson, and Charles Ray
Hightower, two daughters, Mrs. Jess Alford and Miss Geneva Smith,
all of Jonesboro. Pallbearers were: Julius Roberts, Zack Robinson,
Harold Hightower, Leon Hightower, Harry Griffin and Ross Robinson.
