Services held Saturday for Jesse Ramsey
Funeral services for Jesse Franklin Ramsey, age 90, of Chatham, were held at 
4:00 PM, Saturday, July 13, 1985 in the Ebenezer Baptist Church. Rev. C. C. 
Milstead and Rev. Frank Shields conducted the services. 
Burial was in the Ebenezer Cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral 
Home of Jonesboro.
Mr. Ramsey passed away Friday, July 12 in the Lincoln General Hospital in 
Ruston after a short illness. 
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Cora W. Ramsey of Chatham; five sons, Jesse 
Ramsey, Alvin Ramsey and Clyde Ramsey, all of Olla, Clifton Ramsey of Chatham 
and Ernest Ramsey of Grayson; 
Four daughters, Mrs. Irene Barr of Ruston, Mrs. Bessie Mae Bond of Simsboro, 
Mrs. Marie McElroy and Mrs. Mildred Taylor of West Monroe; 
Two sisters, Mrs. Rosie Miller of Bastrop and Mrs. Emma Clark of Delhi; one 
brother, Eugene Ramsey of Chatham; 30 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren 
also survive. 
Grandsons served as pallbearers.

N. O. Ramsey dies after Short Illness
Nathaniel Orron Ramsey, age 55, of Chatham, died Tuesday, February 3 at his 
home after a short illness. He was a farmer.
Funeral services were held at 3:00 PM Wednesday, Feb 4 in the Ebenezer Baptist 
Church. Rev. C. C. Milstead conducted the services. 
Burial was in the Ebenezer Cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral 
Home of Jonesboro.
He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Ramsey of Chatham; five 
brothers, Jesse Ramsey, Alvin Ramsey and Ernest Ramsey, all of Olla, Clyde 
Ramsey and Clifton Ramsey, both of Chatham; 
Four sisters, Mrs. Irene Barr of Ruston, Mrs. Marie McElroy and Mrs. Mildred 
Taylor, both of West Monroe and Mrs. Bessie Walker of Simsboro


Additional Comments:
Jesse and Cora are the parents of my mother, Bessie Mae.
Also the parents of Mildred Taylor - Ezel T. Smith's mother.
Also the parents of Alvin Ramsey - Mary R. Willcutt's father. 
We are all willing to share information on this family.
