Stuart Toms and the Rev. Joey Bignar officiating, under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home of Jonesboro. Burial was in the Sweetwater Cemetery in Quitman. Mr. Walker died Monday, July 18, 1994, at the Jackson Parish Hospital in Jonesboro following a lengthy illness. He was a retired service station attendant and a longtime resident of Quitman. Mr. Walker was preceded in death by his wife Jeanette L. Walker and one son, William Jackson Walker. Survivors include his parents, Mr. And Mrs. A. B. Walker of Quitman; three sons, Dewayne Walker and Glen Dale Walker, both of Hilton Head, S.C., and Justin Walker of Quitman; two daughters, Vickie Tilley of Quitman and Gwen Plunkett of Jonesboro; Six brothers, A.V. Walker and Winston Walker, both of Vernon, and Royce Walker, Ralph Walker, Gale Walker, and Max Walker, all of Quitman; Two sisters, Bessie Williams of Vernon and Floyce Smith of Arcadia; Eight grandchildren, Brandy, Nicole and Jimmy Tilley; Bridget, Joshua and Seth Plunkett; and Ryan and Courtney Walker. Pallbearers were nephews. Honorary Pallbearers were Benny Lowery, Van Beasley, Barry Doner, Harold Kelley, Billy Joe Turnbow, C. W. Tishner, Harold Allen, Lamont Edmiston and W. D. Lewter.
