Funeral services were held at 4:00 PM Thursday, July 15 in the Sweetwater Baptist Church near Quitman. Rev. Stuart Toms conducted the services. Burial was in the Sweetwater Cemetery under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home of Jonesboro. Mr. Walker was a native of Quitman. He was employed by the Louisiana Forestry Commission. Survivors include his parents, A. B. and Mazie Walker of Quitman; two sisters, Bessie Williams of Vernon and Floyce Smith of Arcadia; Eight brothers, A.V. Walker of Vernon, Harold Walker, John Walker, Gale Walker, Max Walker, Royce Walker and Ralph Walker, all of Quitman and Winston Walker of Vernon. Pallbearers were Donald Walker, Wayne Walker, Robert Walker, Leo Walker, Matt Walker and Dennis Smith. Additional Comments: Spelled incorrectly as Tommy Earl when is really Tommie Earl.
