C. Walker dies after Long Illness William Cleveland Walker, age 75, of Chatham died Friday morning in Long Leaf Nursing Home in Ruston after a long illness. Funeral services were held at 2 PM Saturday, March 15, in the Chatham Baptist Church with the Rev. B. T. Milford and the Rev. Bill Moore officiating. Burial was in the Chatham Cemetery under the direction of Edmonds Funeral Home. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Lena Mae Walker; two sons, State Trooper Billy Walker, Jonesboro, and Jimmy Walker, Jonesboro; three daughters, Mrs. Fay Rene Irvin, Chatham, Mrs. Nelda Bentel, Gretna, and Mrs. Linda Seymour, Chatham; One brother, A. B. Walker, Quitman; three sisters, Mrs. Iva Nazworth, Friona, TX., Mrs. Jewell Cummings and Mrs. Lorene Wilburn, both of Roby, TX.; 12 grandchildren also survive. Additional Comments: Willie Cleve married Lena Mae Madden on September 29, 1921. They were the parents of Billy, Mary Nell, Annie, Jimmy, Nelda, Linda and Marilyn Kay. Willie was the son of David William Walker and Mary Ann Jones.
